Tweaking your page text is one of the most common tasks you’ll need to carry out to keep your WordPress website in tip top condition.
We all make typing errors (I’m sure you’ll even find some in this site!), change information, update descriptions, etc. Instead of paying your website designer to make these amendments you can easily do them yourself.
You’ll need a WordPress login for your site – preferably an administrator account. If you haven’t got one make sure you ask your website designer; check out the previous tutorial to find out more about logging in.
Once you’ve logged in simply go back to the customer live view (click the link in the top left of the admin area).
Then find the page you need to edit. Once there you should see a link at the top of the page to ‘edit page’. Click this and you’re into the page editor.
If you don’t see this link you’ve probably not got permission to edit this page. Have a chat with your website designer and get a full administrator account.
Once you’re in the edit page function you simply need to find the text you need to edit. Click on it. You’ll either be able to edit it or you’ll need to click a further button to edit this block of content (please watch the video to see what I mean).
Once edited make sure you save the block, then update the page / post. Your changes don’t go live until you do this!
And that’s the page updated – well done!
